Rare.
Ancient woodland species.
One of the more distinctive of the Phyllonorycter species.

One of four very similar species of Phyllonorycter.

P. harrisella: Three narrower and less distinct costal chevrons.
P. roboris: Unmarked white area in the centre of the wing.
P. heegeriella: Narrow dark long basal streak.
P. tenerella: Four distinct costal chevrons.
